My family often has special requests for things from the grocery and it can be hard to keep track of everything — staples that we need to regularly replace on a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis as well as one-off special requests. Furthermore, we sometimes shop at different stores with different groupings and sequencing of departments.
We started using the iOS Reminders app and it's pretty good. You can put stuff on a list, share it with others, even ask Siri to add things to it. But, while you can create categories, it is a pain to organize and resort depending on the store. Combine that unmet need with a desire to build something I had never previously had the chance to work on - a mobile app - and thus was born Pantry Plus.
It is intended for any kind of shopping list that you may regularly (or not) revisit and want to share with loved ones. It is location aware and will automatically order your categories based on the store you are at.
