Personal Healthcare Invoice Tracker (pHiT) — collate all your family's medical transactions in one place

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of trying to keep track of which healthcare related expenses I've been invoiced and paid. I find that healthcare service providers are often slow to invoice, which can create some confusion. Then they are slow to acknowledge payment and end up repeatedly invoicing for the same procedure or visit.

The idea of having a "Personal Healthcare Invoice Tracker" is to ensure that my dependents and I always know whether a bill was paid, by whom, to whom, and when. What otherwise happens, sometimes, is that either multiple individuals pay the same bill or that one person receives multiple invoices over an extended period and thinks they are for different expenses. Both scenarios result in duplicate and over payment.

To streamline the process, you could conceivably take a picture on your phone of the invoice, upload it to a service that performs an image-to-text transform process, then records the information into a central data store. The same service can detect likely duplicate invoices, call attention to instances where it is unclear.
