I don't know about you, but I'm tired of trying to track down all the places where my dogs have left landmines. I often try to watch them when they're let out so that I can find it right away and dispose of it in the woods. I even thought about building a yard "roomba" device that would scour the yard "smelling" the ground looking for "easter eggs", but quickly discarded that idea for the sheer complexity of the solution.
Then I started thinking how I might simplify things enough to still be useful. I don't mind discarding their poop, I just hate trying to find it. We have a decent size yard, front and back, and we cannot always keep track of where they "go". But, what if we could? What if we could put a tracker on their collar? Maybe an Apple Air Tag. Then keep track of what spots in the yard they pause. It would at least be a way to narrow down the grid to the most likely places to look.
This one is going to require a lot of research and iteration. Thankfully, and sadly, there will be no shortage of test samples.
